I am a current MOE trained teacher in a top IP school. I have been tutoring in a 1-to-1 and group setting as well as teaching in MOE schools over the past 10 years. I am also currently pursuing a PhD in Mathematics at one of our main local universities on a part-time basis.
As a teacher, I have taught in mainstream schools and currently teaching in a top IP school. Hence, I have been exposed to a wide spectrum of students. I have achieved high distinction rates in all the classes that I have taught in with many students seeing substantial improvements in their grades from the time i took them in.
As a tutor, I have tutored students from mainsteam secondary schools and schools offering the IP and IB syllabus, junior colleges, and, diploma and degree programmes offering mathematics related modules, either on a 1-to-1 or group setting. Students have in general performed very well with a high percentage of distinction rate.
As a researcher and educator, I have mentored fellow teachers and have also helped out with curriculum matters as a level coordinator in schools. I have also presented in local and overseas seminars and conferences on mathematics education. My research focuses largely on curriculum matters related to mathematics in the local context.
As my time is very limited with my ongoing commitments, i am focusing largely on group tuition for now. This listing is for the online group tuition option. For the conventional group setting option, please refer to my other listings. I am able to teach all levels of mathematics up to the undergraduate level, but based on demand and practicality, at the moment, I will only be offering group tuition for Upper Secondary (Express) Emath, Amath, IP mathematics, and, JC H1 and H2 mathematics.
Tuition will be conducted at the convenience of your own home. Classes will be conducted using accessible online platforms. You will just need a computer and good wifi access. Classes will simulate a classroom setting where you will be able to observe and listen to me teaching in front of a full wall board. There will be protocols to follow in which students are able to ask me questions during lessons. It is almost as though you are in an actual classroom, but without the physical presence of the tutor or peers. In fact this is the approach I adopt for my IP students when they are on long term absence. This is the most flexible option as you save time by not having to travel, learn from the comfort of your own home and by far the best value for money.
Resources will be uploaded online on a regular basis and will be from MOE approved publishers or modified resources from top schools. You will be given a link to a shared folder where you can download the relevant resources before lessons.
